Directors of operations
Marcel received an intensive training in organic farming. He then held various positions in agriculture where his experience and knowledge were recognized. He first worked in landscaping before moving on to landscape design and finally to organic production in greenhouses and then in the fields. He has distinguished himself in the production of tomatoes and potatoes. He has now been the head of the Hydrodionne team for 15 years as Director of Operations where his reputation is well established.
Bachelor in Forestry, Antonio Romano graduated from the University of Toronto before settling permanently in Quebec. He has gained a lot of experience working for companies such as W. H Perron where he was a manager as well as in some botanix garden centers that still appeal to him. Antonio is a discreet man but very much in demand. Indeed, many Hydrodionne customers ask to be served by Antonio who has met their needs for more than 12 years.
Grégoire studied horticultural production technologies and the environment at the Institute of Agro-Food Technology (ITAA). He worked in several agricultural and horticultural businesses before becoming responsible for the collection greenhouses of the Saint-Hyacinthe ITAA. Since his practical abilities are vast and his technical knowledge is recognized, he was quickly recruited by Hydrodionne. He has been providing quality technical support to Hydrodionne customers for more than 10 years and is helping them greatly in their various horticultural productions. He is a specialist in picky issues and industrial production.
It’s the return of Simon Naylor at Hydrodionne, he liked his experience so much that he bought the company! Simon worked at the Quebec store from 1996 to 1999 and in Montreal in 2000 during his studies in agronomy at Laval University . At that time, Hydrodionne was truly the pioneer of hydroponics, especially in Quebec City. He has represented Hydrodionne at numerous exhibitions such as the Quebec Agricultural and Agri-Food Week (SAAQ) exhibition where he has introduced hundreds of people to high-performance indoor culture.
Passionate about plants and technology, a trained agronomist, in 2000 Simon began a master’s degree at the Institute of Plant Biology Research (IRBV) in collaboration with École Polytechnique de Montréal, whose research focuses on the effectiveness of filtering marshes for the treatment of sewage from fish farms. His knowledge in hydroponics greatly advances the project so that his research results are presented in several countries of the world and have been the source of writing of many high-level scientific articles. Even today the IRBV and the team of Dr. Jacques Brisson exploit the experimental device mounted by Simon and Hydrodionne at the Botanical Garden of Montreal and make significant progress in research on the filtering marshes. Simon is now president of Hydrodionne and intends to maintain the quality of service, which has always differentiated the store from its competitors. In addition, Simon intends to develop a few new avenues that will enable Hydrodionne to continue to be the leader of its industry in serving and advising high-performance horticultural producers while remaining involved in scientific research and development projects Both at the fundamental level and at the level of the applications that could lead to new markets for Hydrodionne . Since 1994 Hydrodionne has been able to advise and make a great number of producers succeed in the province and even outside. It is with new energy and sincere motivation that we have taken over the torch of the Dionne and since 2010 we are working hard to continue our mission while being the most competitive in a market in constant evolution.
